I have the budget information to be pastor, and that's our new municipal budget for fiscal year 27. So I printed out everything, gifts and donations account.

Right now, in our gifts account, we have $13,000. Gifts, $13,000. dollars and fifty -three cents okay however thirty two hundred dollars of $219.53. that is for the Newport Playhouse tickets that was donated from the friends they're helping support our Newport Playhouse trip this year he is here what my grant account has seven thousand four hundred sixty -one

dollars and fifty -eight cents however our first installment for fiscal year 27 is being deposited, actually should be deposited already, but it hasn't shown in our account yet, of $17,820.80.

So our total grant amount for fiscal year 27 is $89,104.

We got $16 per person over 60 in Somerset. I was per person over 60 in Somerset. Cindy, isn't that the same thing we've been getting? It was 15 fiscal year 25. It went up to 16 fiscal year 26. Oh, OK, I remember the 16. And then we got 5,569 on it? Correct. Wow, you're good. I told him that in about two hours ago when he remembered it. I'm impressed, Tony. How's that for the seniors? Great.

Well, I'm a senior. Okay. Let me send this around. You can move it over initial if you don't mind. If you notice, everybody has the policies on a drug -free workplace and fraud policy. Okay, we're talking a little bit about the maintenance. We had one issue. Well, let me talk about the boiler, folks. As you folks know that this year, we drained the boiler down. Cindy. We drained the boiler down so she's

dry, and then Mike, we've got to get ready to light off, but before we light off, we're going to have a contract come down here, clean the burner, do the adjustments, and so, so, so. We're all set for the winter, which will be good. Cindy? We drained the boiler down. As you all know, we have a new replacement for Mike Jr. that left us. There's another fellow that came from the high

school department, and I heard he's tremendous. Even if I heard this from the outside, he's very, very... very good. He's very conscientious, has a work and so forth, so I think we're going to make out. Is that his name? Mark? Did you get the meeting already, Doc? Oh, no, I heard he's excellent, Doc. We did have a little bit of an issue with the mini -unit, the one at the Marjan room.

I asked Mike to follow up and find out what it was, and he said, the guy said we had a little bit of an electrical issue there that they took care of. I think, Cindy, we were down two days, but Mike had saved, we talked to Cindy, and we wanted to save all the old units. We saved the newest two we had. It's for a backup. Cindy said she wanted to keep

a couple backups, so this way here, we'll be able to lose the beat, you know, as soon as the LCAC might take care of it right away. So that was the discussion on that. Okay, back to you, Cindy. New business. I think, Cindy, we were down two days.

I'm like a news reporter right now. so upcoming events. We actually have a luncheon today. Chris Waters will be here, and Somerset Corral is catering with eating love and mashed potatoes. We have a lot coming up in the next couple of months, so I actually have found everything for, I put out the September newsletters if y 'all just want to look at them, but we have a Hospice Mythbusters presentation

coming in September. Dan Fontaine, Elvis will be back September 16th.

Single dinner on the 22nd, and we're going to bring breakfast back in September as we start phasing out our dinners. We'll start bringing breakfast back.

Then we have some stuff going on in October, too. The Newport Playhouse, when we talked about the grants, so the Friends group is supporting us in that.

They gave us $3,200 towards tickets for the Newport Playhouse, and then our Hathaway grant gave us the money for the bus. Wow. So where are the people paying for tickets? They're going to, we're going to have to charge about $20 per ticket, just because the Hathaway grant gave us $1,200 for the bus. It was $1,400, and the tickets actually, we... $1,400. And the tickets actually, we're going to

be short about $1,100 on that. So we're going to charge $20 per ticket.

Because it's like $80 per ticket. And it's going to be the last time because they're closing December 31st. I don't know.

I don't know. But they are closing for good, so. that's what I'm saying. That's so sad. We have Cheryl Faye coming back in October as well. Is that the lady that you just had? No, she's the actress that does. Oh, yeah, yeah. She was here last year. She's really amazing. She's a method actress, and she's doing Laura Ingalls Wilder. Oh, okay. So

she's excellent. So that's coming. And that's also sponsored by our Friends group. They're doing a lot of fun racing for us right now, so good times. Excellent.

The Christmas party preparation, we need to start thinking about it, so. Yes, but the only is going to be open? I've heard they're not going to have a banquet, though, in the banquet area. So I know y 'all don't like the Venus, but we thought about what if we charge like $20, $25 per ticket, or we can look into whites. But, again, people may not want to drive to whites. But, again,

people may not want to drive twice. They don't want to drive. I know. So...

Cindy, but you couldn't go to the church if they're still open? for one.

Number two, we could. It's just... It's a workload issue. Yeah, it's a lot of work. And it was pulled. People, our people enjoyed it a lot at Venus.

And it is, like I said, it was definitely a workload issue. And I know the board will be there to help serve, that's not the problem. And I know the board will be there to help serve that. That's a lot. What is it, 103? The only thing is I heard people complain about the meal in Venus last year. Really? Yeah, some people complained about that. And I said, well, the good

thing about having it, where we had it down there, is the meal was always, always excellent. Because we got it from... Yeah, we got it catered from different places.

Do you know if the complaint was that there is a fixed amount of food versus at the church it's you come back as much as you want and get a bigger portion? Well not really. I mean like their desserts, their desserts were like cookies. I mean we can counteract that as well too, we can get a couple of cakes. But yeah, their desserts were disappointing. Again, we

could do more with that, but we'd have to spend more money. Again we could do more with that but we'd have to spend more. I had the fish. What I ate wasn't too bad. What was the other thing that they had? Chicken. We had chicken. No. No, for Christmas we had ham. We had ham. So maybe that was the problem. What is the date of the Christmas party? We don't know yet.

We're thinking December 16th, which would be a great date, but it's, I mean, I know it's August, but it's going to come up before. Oh, no, no. We have to plan. Yeah, come October we're gonna stop. Exactly.

Going for the raffle stuff. They love to see you, you know that. But the thing is, people are gonna want to drive. No, not over the bridge. Not in December. It's a little snowstorm, or it's a little snow. And I don't blame them. And McDonies, I heard that they're not gonna have a banquet area. McDonies, I'm surprised because they have that right area where they have the Breedman. That right area

where they have Breedman, they have the Breedman area, they have the bar down there.

Would it be enough for like how many people we have though? How many? Well we had 200 people. Oh no. So Venus would be a better set. Yeah.

See what kind of menu Venus has. I mean we had it at Venus last year. Was it a buffet? No. It was served. yeah. Another thing Cindy did, I heard people complain about what, I got to complain because I heard people complain about, but I got the complaint because they said, you know, you're close to Cindy, you can, on the board, you can tell them, what's the, uh, the prizes went too

long. Erin and I already discussed that. We're going to do it in a completely different way this year. It did. It went way too long. No, so what we're going to do is, um, we're going to have the raffles, tickets being sold, but we're going to have a board, so the winners will be posted on the board, instead of sitting there and waiting and calling them out. there'll be somebody manning the

raffle table. We'll put the numbers on the board. They'll look at their ticket, they come up, show the ticket, and they get it. So yeah, that way there'll be more time for dancing and socializing. Because that is the problem with the Venus. The meals are served slower. You go your courses, so it's not like you just hear where we're just, okay, everybody's served, eat quick, and then go out and dance. The

only thing I would like to say though is I would want to rule out the church if that would be a possibility because like I said to you before, we talked this once before, I would promise you that we'll get all the help I need, we need, to do it so that it's not just falls on you and Aaron. The only thing I would like to say though is I would want to

It's a law on the set up, it's a law on the, like I said, I'm not afraid of hard work, that doesn't bother me. One of my biggest worries about that is last year that we had it there, part of our Christmas party is all of our seniors and us, the staff, everybody communicating with one another. We're enjoying, they like, they actually like that communication with our staff. We didn't, we don't

have time for that. We don't have time to get out on the dance floor and dance with people. We don't have time to go and sit there and chit -chat with them. We don't have that kind of time because we're running the whole entire time. I don't mind that, but I do like to have that time that we, it's Christmas, we're all a family together, we're sitting down, I can go and

sit down, hey, how's your family doing, we can talk, that's the part. How many people can we fit in the church? What church are they talking about? St. Patrick's.

When are they closing? I don't think that matters, because that room will still be available to you. Okay, and how many, does that fit? I don't know if I'm asking for a hundred I think we've had like 120 150 we had a I don't know if I'm asking you. It was over a hundred. I think we've had like a hundred. meal for 150 or 160 feet

but you had to limit that right yeah whereas Venus you don't yeah we did 200 but yeah right but I mean there were a lot of people there because the tickets for me ten bucks and you gotta remember something else then they would have to do it I think that we spent six thousand right yeah I think that we spent $6,000, right? Yeah, that's what he said, upping the tickets. that's what I said upping

the You have to up those tickets a lot more than what we asked last year. $2,000 is cheap. Oh, yeah. We did it that way the first start, but it won't be happening. One of the reasons we did is because friends had just had a dance there, and they charged that, and I'm like, how are we going to compete with that? So I'm thinking $25,000. Yeah, yeah. I think $25

,000 is a very expensive. Because the friends just had their dance there, too, and they upped their prices, and they still got a great turnout. And they've still got a great turnout of it. And then you can ask for a nice menu. We can all look at the menu and say, hey, we like the turkey or the tam or something. That's good. Can we learn that then? My concern is

not being able to reserve it. We're now in almost September. Yeah. We should make a decision if we can make that today. It'll be, things will start looking up really quick. Yeah. And the thing is, is I need a date if I'm gone.

I need a date if I'm going, because I start in October to get... for, we've looked at the schedule, we're thinking December 16th would probably be a good date, but again, where we're going to have it, are they going to be open on that date? I mean, we still have September, but I mean, that could, August went by so fast, oh my god. At 1.30, I'm going to be with the

guy, did you deal with Joey Brillo when you used to go down to St.

Pat's? I don't... Well, he was the guy that we would... well he's he's the guy that we would we would be dealing with frank that i talked to um frank he retired he retired so the 16th is i'm going to see him today do you want me to require if that room is is available i mean i'm not going to commit to anything but no no that's going to be

I mean we did just use them for Elvis over there was like six months ago oh yeah I remember that yeah people go showed up with the shirts on yeah but he didn't he he doesn't want to do that there's no stage so he prefers it here oh yeah I've seen so why don't we do this doc why don't we have our meeting in September look why don't we do it like

the second week of September or we're gonna push our meeting up yeah you know why so so then we make a decision like doctors we don't want to wait toward towards the end because you got October November you got to look at it two months so let's do you can also you can always um reserve that date to Venus and then you just say I would do I can't do it I

would reserve it today only because August went by so fast that September is going to be the same thing yeah and then we're sitting here going oh my god we should have done it as soon as possible so secure that date for right now and then go on top and then if you get something else you say okay Venus we decided yeah that's not a good date we don't we don't

have to pay money down to you right I checked that today too all right so I'm in favor of the church yeah sorry well I like that and I'm willing Oh, I like the church. And I'm willing to help out with whatever help anybody needs. so can you check in the next, this week on the church? I can check today. I'm going to be with the guy. Okay. I'll just see if

they still rent the room out, and I'm sure they do. Are we still going to go with 25 then? Rent the room out. We get the room for nothing.

No, to use the room. Oh, yeah, yeah. Okay, and we're still going to go with 25 so we have adequate amount of food and limit to 120 people? I think so. All of a sudden, we're cutting it in half. I'm not just agreeing with the church. Yeah, but like I said, last year, a lot of people brought, like, here a lot of people brought like relatives and friends that normally relatives and

friends. don't come to that party because it was at the Venus and because it was only 10 bucks but again we're gonna up that price so I would keep it the 12 to 25 I think that's a great price if we have it at the church we're not gonna do $25 to take it

What happens if friends decide to come there? Well, you have to get the ticket ahead of time. Oh, they do. They always get the tickets ahead of time. No, friends decide to come to any Christmas party. A lot of people commit to going, then they don't show up. So it all kind of balances out at the end.

but if you put even that two dollars down people will usually come um yeah exactly but it's the free thing so they especially for charging 25 dollars they're gonna come um or sell their ticket to somebody else that could come absolutely we have it at the church Absolutely, but we have it at the church and we figure out, when you had your luncheon with

Roderick's you said they catered, their food was good, right? He's very expensive. He's expensive.

Okay. Yeah, Madonna, we've always used Somerset Grills. Oh, yes. For Christmas party, it never is. And they were phenomenal. But the thing is - That's another one. Yeah. Because I went with Michael and I to go get that meal. That was good too.

What was it? What was the meal from McGovern's? We had turkey, turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, Cindy, it was excellent. We had turkey. One of our Christmas dinners we had. Oh, what was it?

Turkey and ham.

That was good. But I mean, we like to keep it local, and Summer Cycle is very good to us. And you want to mingle. But again, though, I have to say, we use Summer Cycle every Thanksgiving, every Christmas.

Okay, it's sometimes you got an adventure outside the box too. Sometimes you've got to adventure outside the box, too. We use them for a lot of our lunches and I love giving them business. They're great to us. They're phenomenal. Cindy, we could go to Fort River. Go to Montgomery's. They have excellent, excellent food. But you're also going to remember some of the grill delivers

it. Then they come pick up all the dirty pans that we don't have to wash them. No, no, no, no, not there. Well, they didn't before. They didn't. I picked that up. So much like Birdland last time, but it was different ownership. I didn't say it last time, but it was different ownership. Since Steve and Kim own it, they come here and they don't even want us washing them. They just want

to take it back and put it in their own, their own dishwasher. They deliver it. I mean, these are all the things you've got to keep in mind. Driving all the way to Fall River, where do they take a sharp turn and the food goes sliding all over the back of your four -runner? I also think it sends a wrong message to Kim and Steve. I agree. Yeah, absolutely. No.

So what, to go to Venus? Yep. No. To go to McGovern. To go to McGovern. Yeah, sometimes. Okay. If by chance, though, we're going to need help, can we ask the students at the high school? No, because it's during the school day. Not only that, but when you think about that, because now there's more cost into it, because now we're feeding them as well.

We'll get the help. We'll get the help. I know I can get my wife to help with this. We can get a group of people to help. We'll get the help. I know I can get my wife to help.

When this first came up a while back I said to Cindy if it's decided to go to the church it won't be the burden on Cindy and Eric. Yeah that's the thing that's what I'm worried about. That's not fair. No it's more work for them. The last time we had the party at the church we did not get to communicate with anybody to celebrate with anybody we ran the whole entire time

that we were there. So we need to get a lot of volunteers. If it goes over there. If it goes there. All right. So if I'm hearing correctly, Tim is going to check today, tomorrow, get us an answer. Can we say that that will be the decision if we can go there and move forward? Or does it have to come back to the board to hear Tim say we got it?

We can vote contingent on. us getting it, but I have no doubt in my mind. Well, I'm not 100 % on absolutely having it there, so I think, you know, I'd like to see what we can get. Why don't we wait until our next meeting that we've pushed up and give everyone a little time. I would still ask today, but give us a little bit of time for everybody to get on

the same page. Yeah, we still have our options, okay? We know Venus is open on the stage, so is the church. Now we can talk about it. So what do you need to hear at the next meeting to feel comfortable to have it at the church? see I'm I don't even I want a plan in place that we're good it's not going to happen a plan in place and

we can't guarantee I want you to say because I agree with you it's not going to unless you have people signing on the dotted line exactly that I'm going to be here this is what we're going to do I'm going to help this we're going to help set up we're going to help serve we're going to help clean up we're going to do this that way so you're number one choice would

be this yes so the board to me has to Everyone chose would be the Venus. Yes. So the board, to me, has to decide, are we going to say, tough luck to Cindy, we're going to have it there, or are we going to say that Cindy should be able to be free and go to the Venus? I'm just working through the questions here. I mean, it comes down to monetary, and I

guess that's what the board is voting on. I'm just saying to have it a great experience to everybody. We had a, there was a little bit of things that we had to work out at the Venus last year, like the prizes and stuff.

And we've talked about that. We've worked through it. was a dry run. So to me, it seems like you ask the Venus today, tomorrow, sometime this week, are you available? If they're not available, that pushes us to the church. That's the default position that we have to take. Unless the board here just says, absolutely, we don't want to go to the Venus. We're just going back and forth. I say if

we can get if I just don't want them to be working like I said if we can get a lot of people to volunteer I mean we get people from the food thing that volunteer we could ask them let them come in and help us serve we can get people that's the thing that is not just a certain ideas huh get the sleeping that they usually come and help that's what I'm

saying that's what y 'all are understanding it's not just this serving it's not the serving for weeks in advance we're gathering tablecloths we're gathering so we're transporting it to the church we're setting it all up there's not there's a lot of behind the scenes things it's not about serving the food I like no I make a motion that we call the Venus today or tomorrow

secure that day if they have that date I just think a Christmas party to me I've done many parties my life I've done wedding this party to me I've done many parties my life I've done wedding parties I've parties done it should be different than our normal every day it should be to the point you want to dress up nicely you want to sit down have a meal then we'll go

to the thing you want them to serve food is food yeah that's how it that's how I see the atmosphere so now you don't have to work it's like all right and you don't have to clean yep you can eat enjoy and say I'm out of here right I'm done today yeah I'm for that I think we should go to Venus is there a second I'm for that. I think we should

go with the Venus. Is there a second?

Cindy, I would go with that if, number one, the price, you know, we can't spend $6,000. so that's out of the question. So we'd have to get the tickets if you decide on 200 people at $25 a person. What are we looking at, uh, five? Oh, come on, in your head. So, that's another question.

$5,000. Is it five? Well, $225 is $5,000, yeah. I mean, why not $30?,000? Maybe we need $230,000. But to think about it even, so what does that leave us? $1,000, $1,500 spend. We're going to spend that regardless of where we go on food. It's going to decrease the numbers down to $200,000, OK? And I think that that just gives us a reasonable thing.

I think the intent is to make it so everybody enjoys it. Well, no, no.

OK? I agree that, you know, everyone. And to have it a little different than, I mean, But a little different than, I mean, our luncheons here are great, we serve and stuff, but that's great. our luncheons here are great. We serve. I think the task then jumps back to Cindy and Aaron to negotiate what we're going to eat there within the budget and the type of food. You know, we've had the

complaint, let's register those and change that. But I think that $30 a person is not unreasonable. Well, for Christmas dinner. Not for Christmas dinner. I don't think so. I'd pay $30. Cindy, do you think? - Yeah, because the normal prices at Venus for their things are low. for their things are a little far above that. Yeah. Well, the only other thing I'd like to do, if it's okay with the board, is

I'd like to invite Mark, and I'd like to invite the board of selectors. Yeah.

Because I think they support us a lot in every way. They've been invited every year. I invite them every year. No, I think last year - So that's four people times 30 is $120, right? I think we can... No, no, not that.

Is that right? all right no not necessarily have another discussion we'll have another No, not necessarily. right but they will have a secure date but you that's what I'm saying if you want to call the Venus and just get a reservation by the time we meet again it's not going to be too late

Because that was a big drive last year. Once you get the date, you'll be able to get the price of what the food is and everything, right? Once you get the date, you'll be able to get Yeah, what we're going to have and see what it is. No, she's in Maryland. Because she texted me. She said, you go, I'll say to myself. Well, yeah. Cindy, the only thing I really enjoyed about the grill was the food.

I liked the food. The year that we did Montgomery's, that was excellent.

Everybody, everybody. No, the food is, and we'll have the grill for Thanksgiving. We do it every year. Yeah, that's true. I'm just talking about, like Disa, we have it here. Oh, you have it here, and the grill cake is here? Yes. So your tables are all out there? Yeah, they bring it in, like, today they'll bring, we plate in, it gets delivered. We can only fit 60 p.m. huh? Yeah.

But that's why I was saying the Christmas party should be a little different. a celebration. It should be something different. You know, it's worth a year. Plenty of times you can have different, you know, areas that you can have. It should be something to look forward to, something special, something different. And I know there could be a

lot of help. I know people are volunteering, all that help. But that's, it's different.

It's just a whole different atmosphere. Absolutely.

All right, move it on. Let me just, what was the other thing that's kind of odd though? So two things we're going to know. We'll know that we're going to do the price a little higher this year. Like Doc said, I probably cut a lot of people off to $10 for just a gift. So we'd go with $25 or $30, whatever you decide. And then the other thing was that the prizes

will make that a different way than you did last year. And we'll still run a 50 -50, which always helps us, right? We're on the 50 -50, which always helps us, right? Absolutely. It always helps us. OK. And Desiree said that she's seen other places where they do the board. It's literally a nice basket where the one doesn't matter. Meanwhile, Tim, you're going to check with your friend. There's no time taking

that. Is he the custodian over there for the church? He does. No. People make stuff. His name is Joe Brillo. She goes and gets donations a lot. OK. A lot like Tony is what he's doing in the basket. He's doing the basket. People donate. and we always ask for like donations. So who makes the baskets and stuff?

and he I brought up the point about not even open the door I gave him myself as an example and when I was in a wheelchair I could not open that door and maneuver myself around it he said it's actually illegal to have a automatic door opener on a single occupancy Not a door opener on a single occupancy bathroom. Somebody else could be in there, but.

our door here locks, and if you lock the door, you can press that button all you want. And you won't open it. So I don't know, but I did tell him, but he measured the width of the hallway and everything. He said there's enough access room. I couldn't do it, but he said it's not easy.

So just because it's difficult doesn't mean it's not. He measured that as well. It's at the right height and I said that I did say that because of doors literally closing behind you and the light switch so now you're in the dark looking for the light. He said again that was up to code. What did he say Cynthia? It was it was all everything was up to code. the after our meeting on the 16th is

I asked Mike, we're going to remove the cartons from the stage. They're deteriorating. They're literally falling apart and the dust and everything on there is fine. Do you replace them or just leave it alone?

I don't know what it's going to look like when we take them down. I don't know what's behind there. is actually, so they're like stapled up, but there's an actual rock. So they're like stapled up, but there's an actual rod behind where the curtains are supposed to go so you can open and close them. But our movie projector thing, which we don't use that anymore, we use the TV for our movies.

So, I wouldn't mind replacing them. I can't say how much they cost to replace them. But they need to come down. There's a lot of our stuff, our building needs a little TLC. It needs some TLC. We were talking about that one time and then we dropped that as well. some kind of refreshment.

Oh, I do have something under here for us with the topics. Cindy, we talked about a new refrigerator. Yes, so I put it, I got the money.

We got approved for $5,000 to update our kitchen to do like refrigerator. We can maybe even get, possibly get another basket freezer of the seal. Possibly get them in the basket freezer of the seal and that one's starting to go. And that one's starting to... The only problem with this grant is it's a reimbursement grant.

So we have to spend the money first and they will reimburse us. Okay, how do they do it? Yeah, I have a meeting actually on the 16th. Okay. Ooh, that's a big one. I think it's in the afternoon though. They're going to go through how to get reimbursement for us. So we have to spend the money up front, but they reimburse us. I think I have an idea so we can hit

up for a loan. This guy is pretty good. I think I have an idea as to who we can hit up for a loan.

I mean, we have the money, we have the money we've earned, but we have to pay it up for. Do you have an upright freezer? So what we're going to do is get a standalone refrigerator. We want the big stainless steel one that's got nothing, no freezer, just all refrigerator. And then separate. So this one, I know that sometimes... And then separate. So this one, I know sometimes in the food

pantry, they're going to put stuff on top of it. It's good for now. If we just can only do the refrigerator, that's fine. Our basket freezer is good for now. But eventually, I'd like to upgrade that to a bigger one. And this is starting to go a little bit on. As far as the bathroom goes, I had one complaint. Shoot. It was the woman said, you know, she couldn't find the light

switch. Yeah, that's what I was just talking about. I'm sorry, I was looking at this. There was some reason he gave me for that and I don't quite reason.

We'll have to sit down and talk with Jim. We'll talk about that in that.

Because as you come in the door is closing behind you and you're searching for that light switch. So if it could go on automatically open a door it would be great. A sensor light would be good. I actually like the light where it is because it's my height. It's like for a kid.
